S/V Nomadness

This an Amazon 44 round-bilge steel raised-salon pilothouse cutter with in-mast furling, Yanmar 77 HP turbo diesel and Yanmar 7.5 KW genset.  She was originally built by SP Metalcraft (Vancouver BC) in 1987, and had a major refit in 2002; her resumé includes two transits of the Panama Canal, extensive East Coast cruising from Maine to the Caribbean, and a few transits of the Pacific Coast.  There will be much more detail on this site as the project develops; I've only owned the boat since October 2007.  For now, a few photos....

The pilothouse bridge

The pilothouse bridge, a complete inside steering and ship management station.  On the port side, there is also a chart table and galley.

Dinette

Rugged dinette, looking forward... solid enough to double as a workbench and lab space.  To starboard is a flat-screen TV, cabinet with washer/dryer, and dedicated shower compartment; forward is the V-berth and an ensuite head.

Nomadness at the dock

Poised for adventure...

Main Engine

The engine is a Yanmar 77-horse turbo diesel, and tankage is 284 gallons

Genset

Also under the pilothouse sole is the 7.5 KW diesel generator.  Both are so well insulated that they purr when running.

At the helm during delivery

During the delivery in Guemes Channel, grinning in a small-craft advisory.  She was stately, even when burying the bow

Radar

4-KW, 48-mile open-array radar on the arch.  This structure also includes fold-out dinghy davits.

Hanging

Hauled for pressure wash and survey.  That's a 3-blade Max Prop; draft is 6 feet.
