I am currently an online High School student In South Carolina. For two years I have obsessed with finding the perfect escape or adventure. I have looked and kayaks, camping gear, locations, survival gear, etc… I am constantly drawn to the kayak for the same reason. I want to be small, practical, and fairly inexpensive. Im constantly researching and surfing forum to blog and so on. I want something small enough to be practical but Big enough to be able to pack things for an extended trip. What better than this fantastic invention!! I read that you already have someone interested in it, but I wanted to know everything about it. Is it all custom made!? Did you buy the kayak, outriggers, and equipment your self and then construct? How did it all come together!? I would love to build one of these watercrafts for my own adventures.

    Thank you, J.Tyler Evans

Hi, and thanks for the kind words! Here is an article I wrote about the fabrication of the Microship itself… not counting the geeky bits. The center hull is a kevlar canoe called the Odyssey, made by Wenonah; the outer hulls and crossbeams were designed for the Fulmar trimaran. No need for major wheel-reinvention!

If you want something of kayak scale, the Hobie Adventure Island and others of the ilk are really nice…

Anyway, here is the tale of Microship construction:

Hope that helps! Cheers and fair winds…
